South West Western Australia - Wilderness & Wildflowers - Walking Holiday

South West Western Australia - Wilderness & Wildflowers Walking Holiday

Overview

South West WA is a diverse region of desert, abundant forests, stunning wild coastlines and country towns. Join us on a round journey from Perth taking in the highlights of this region during mid-late spring. First stop is historic York situated in the Avon Valley. The first inland town in WA, York is listed on the Register of the National Estate and has streets lined with many historic buildings. We then travel to historic Kalgoorlie, situated in the heart of the gold fields region. The main street is awash with glorious buildings all bearing testament to the wealth that was generated over the years. From Kalgoorlie we journey south to Esperance and Cape Le Grand National Park. This area is an ancient landscape which has been above sea level for well over 200 million years and remained unglaciated. As a result, it is home to many primitive species. Our next stop is Bremer Bay where we visit Stokes Inlet National Park and Fitzgerald River National Park, for walks on some of the most beautiful coastlines and estuaries along WA’s southern coast. Stirling Range National Park and Porongurup National Park allow us to walk through varied landscapes with sweeping views from local lookouts. Historic Albany was once a major whaling centre and coal shipping port and the town boasts many points of interest. After the treetop walk in Walpole we travel on to Pemberton, famous for its Karri forests. We travel on to Cape Leeuwin where the Indian and Southern Ocean meet. From here we follow the scenic route through the famous wine growing region of Margaret River to Yallingup and enjoy some short walks in Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park before heading back to Perth.
