Join this ultimate two-week tour to some of Tasmania’s best natural delights. After time in Hobart, we travel to Stewarts Bay Lodge on the Tasman Peninsula, our base for three nights. At Port Arthur, we enjoy a harbour cruise, explore the historic site, and visit nearby Remarkable Cave. During our stay, join the Pennicott Wilderness Cruise along the dramatic sea cliffs of Tasman National Park, and take time to walk the geological marvel of Cape Raoul. Travelling north west, we enjoy a walk to Russell Falls in Mount Field National Park. Onwards to Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, we soak up lakeside vistas, hike Mt Rufus, and explore scenic shoreline trails. A short visit to historic Queenstown is followed by a six-hour eco-cruise on the Gordon River / Macquarie Harbour. Visit the West Coast Pioneers Memorial Museum at Zeehan; and stop the night in picturesque Strahan, steeped in pioneering stories. Walk from myrtle forest via button grass plains to the summit of Mt Donaldson. To experience the many moods of the Tarkine, we cruise the Pieman River, enjoy walks in Australia’s largest temperate rainforest and have the option to kayak secluded waterways. A walk to The Nut in Stanley, and penguin spotting is followed by a visit to the iconic Town of Murals in Sheffield. Nearby, we gaze over the Great Western Tiers from the Alum Cliffs. Based in Mole Creek Karst National Park for two nights, there’s time to explore the subterranean world of Marakoopa Cave. Learn about the iconic Tasmanian devil at a private wildlife sanctuary. Hunt for secrets buried underground on a truffle farm and enjoy Devil’s Gullet walks. Travel through classic ‘English-style’ countryside towards Launceston where we enjoy our final evening together and a farewell dinner overlooking the gorge.

Walk Rating:
Easy to Moderate: 5-17km per walking day with some shorter options based on self guided walks. Age is not necessarily as important as your fitness and recent walking experience, and anyone of reasonable fitness should be able to join this tour. We reserve the right to be flexible with the itinerary to allow for unforeseen circumstances including weather conditions and group fitness.
